Longhorn III Investments, LLC is a hard money lender based in Dallas, TX. We were formed in 2008 to help provide hard money loans to the single family residential investing market in Texas. Since then we have grown to expanded our hard money loan programs to multiple states along with doing hard money loans on multifamily and commercial investment properties as well. As a Texas based hard money lender we will fund both the rehab and purchase price of a property up to 70% of the after repaired value (ARV). Our complimentary businesses include a title company in both Dallas and Houston through Excel Title, 2 real estate funds that operate in all aspects of single family investing, and our combined law practice of over 27 years.

Michael L. Hoffman - Principal
Michael Hoffman, Attorney & Principal of Longhorn III Investments, LLC, a private lending company since July of 2008. He is the manager of Trident Realty Investments, LLCs, a real estate company that currently has over $20 million dollars in loans and owns over $2 million in single family properties. Being such an active investor and manager of a hard money lender Michael has a wealth of investor related information to pass on. He is a licensed attorney and has been practicing law in the State of Texas since November 1994. His firm, Hoffman & Kaliser P.C. also acts as a fee office of Excel Title. The title offices in Dallas and Houston have been helping investors facilitate title closings since February of 2006.
Prior to graduating from St. Mary’s School of Law, Mr. Hoffman attended the University of Texas in Austin. Mike lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife Shannon, son Jacob and daughter Daly.
Merrill is a principal in Longhorn III Investments, LLC. (a private lending company since July of 2008.) He is also the manager of Trident Realty Investments, LLC (a real estate company formed to do hard money loans, buy and sell single family properties, and purchase notes). Trident’s current portfolio has over $20,000,000 in loans.
Merrill is a licensed attorney and has been practicing law in the State of Texas since November 2000. His firm, Hoffman & Kaliser P.C. also acts as a fee office of Excel Title. The title company have been helping investors facilitate closings of both residential and commercial properties since February of 2006. Merrill is also a principal of an entity that has acquired, rehabbed and leased over $50,000,000 in single family residences in the first ten months of it’s operations. Merrill’s team continues to acquire, rehab and lease up to 100+ properties per month throughout Texas.
Prior to graduating from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Mr. Kaliser attended the University of Texas in Austin where he first met Mr. Hoffman. Merrill lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife Kim, daughters Victoria and Mikayla and son Zolomon.
Christopher has 14 years experience in the field of Direct Marketing and Sales. He came to Longhorn III Investments with a background in financial services and real estate investing. Prior to working with Longhorn III Investments Christopher worked as head of marketing and joint ventures for Lifestyles Unlimited in Dallas. Christopher has wide array of experience in marketing and real estate. His relationships and versatile skill set in the real estate investing market have been crucial in expanding the services offered to real estate investors and lenders.
Christopher currently lives in Irving with his wife Julia and 4 children (Sarah, Christopher III, Sebastian, and William). He graduated from the University of Dallas College of Business with a degree in Business Leadership.
Chris Jameson – Regional Director
Chris is a real estate investor, mentor, and military veteran that owns/co-owns numerous Single Family rental properties. He grew up in WA where he was an academic and athletic standout. In 2008, he left college where he was playing collegiate football to join the United States Navy. Chris served a year in Iraq in support of a Joint Special Operations Command where he received a Joint Service Commendation Medal.
In 2009, bought his first two rental properties. He, his wife, and his partners bought over 30 investments properties in San Antonio from November 2011 to August 2014. Chris joined Longhorn Investments in 2011 and helped spread the Longhorn brand throughout Central Texas. He has facilitated loans on over $35 million worth of Single Family properties and established Longhorn as a perennial market leader for hard money loans. 2014 culminated a well-established personal real estate portfolio that included paying out nearly $1 Million in rehab and transaction costs for highly distressed properties allowing renters, property managers, contractors, supply stores, handymen, employees, brokers, agents, lenders, and local families to reap the rewards and opportunities created by helping redevelop and improve neighborhoods and communities all over Central Texas.
Mr. Bell has over thirty years of experience as a real estate and financial executive. For the past 16 years he served as President, CEO and founder of UGMC and its subsidiaries CLS Investments and CLS Escrow, Inc. where he ran a fully integrated national wholesale lending business, high yield debt platform, capital markets advisory and loan servicing firm. Mr. Bell also served as President, CEO and Chairman of Opportunity Management Company (REIT). During this time he helped guide the company through the NASD approval process elevating the company from the status of non-trading REIT to publicly traded REIT. Prior to owning his own business Mr. Bell was employed by Temple-Inland Mortgage Corp and Capital Mortgage Bankers, Inc. where he served as Executive Vice President. In addition, Mr. Bell is a Strategic Partner at Westwind Investors. Westwind is a private equity firm making controlling investments in U.S. based enterprises between $2M and $50M. Mr. Bell is a graduate of the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill (1986)
